A Happy Marriage is Easier If You Do This

Here's a simple tip for having a happy marriage.

Having a happy marriage, and keeping it that way, requires attention.

Have you noticed how people tend to NOT put too much attention on the quality of our relationship or marriage unless things are NOT going well?

THEN we put a LOT of attention on it. We get super focused on what’s not working or what’s wrong or what we don’t like.

STEP #1:

Rather than focusing as a reaction to something gone wrong, today take a look at your relationship/marriage and find one GREAT thing about it.

There may be lots of great things. For now, simply focus on ONE GREAT THING. Spend five or ten minutes (…or more if you’re a keener) wallowing in how pleased that has you be.

If it takes you a couple of minutes to get into that space then take the extra time to do that. Your happy marriage is worth it.

Just because it may take extra time to get there doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist…it only means you’re not focused on it.

STEP #2:

This is super important. Share that One Great Thing with your partner with no expectations of how they should or shouldn’t react.

Simply share it to let them know you’ve been thinking about this One Great Thing. Then, share some of the story of why it pleases you. Be sure they get their part in the story. How will this happen?…You will tell them of course!
